Erkan completed his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees at Marmara University, Faculty of Education, Department of Painting. He has served as a founding faculty member, manager and department head in many Fine Arts Faculties.
He has opened 16 solo exhibitions, four of which are abroad (Turkish Republic of Cyprus, Japan, Greece and Bulgaria), participated in more than 100 group exhibitions, organized and curated international symposiums. The artist, who has served as a jury member in important painting competitions, has 3 books titled “Terminology of Painting Art”, “Analysis of Historical Masterpieces in European Painting Art” and “Judith and Holofornes in Painting Art” and many articles.
Aziz Erkan is currently working as a faculty member at Sinop University, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design.
