About Burak Yiğit

In his works, the artist focuses on drawing attention to how urbanization and industrialization transform nature in the context of urban space. In the exhibition  Human-Structure-Nature, he questions the changing aesthetics of today’s cities and the physical transformations in urban space through analog and digital collages created with urban photographs. The urban photographs used carry cross-sections of time and urban space, enabling the creation of a collective urban memory. The photographs and layers of paint brought together in digital or analog media aim to make visible the traces of the destruction and reconstruction process that cities are subjected to; the accumulation, disorder and chaos caused by new forms of urbanization.
